Subsistance Knife with Browns Point Handle

$70.00

The Subsistence Knife is my love letter to the original American made Sharpfinger. Why subsistence? This knife has just the basics needed to survive and none of the fluff. It is sharp, ergonomic, and robust while remaining small and light.

The blade is 1084 high carbon steel with a unique handle made from Mexican Blanket G-Carta. It comes with a no nonsense leather sheath and a paracord retention lanyard.

I chose to give this knife a convex grind like the original sharp fingers because it creates a sharp yet tough edge. The surface is finished with a ferric chloride etch. This darkens the blade and helps prevent rust by building a thin layer of oxide. Check out the youtube video for more detail. Youtube

Care Details: This knife is made from high carbon steel. To prevent rusting you must clean, dry, and oil the blade after use.
